Stripping Mesh is a metallic open web cloth woven from a flat continuous shaving of high carbon bright steel. The Lustersheen Stripping Mesh is the “Classic product” to do the manual buffing and dry scrubbing necessary for the stripping and cutting down of old paints and varnish from all types of wood and metallic substrates.
The Lustersheen Stripping Mesh is the ideal abrasive for the dry scrubbing necessary for the initial removal of built up grime and undesirable finish that is a necessary part of reviving antique furniture, old substrates, parquet floors and the like.
The flat high carbon shaving that forms the stripping mesh provides a tough cutting edge for stripping that outlasts steel and synthetic pads. The open weave allows for accumulation of waste, easy removal from the work surface, and easy cleaning and reuse of the cloth.

Note: Because of the unique weave, there is a directional quality to the mesh’s use. Generally, the pad is best used placed inside a properly sized wood block, and slid back and forth in a direction opposing the 2 cutting sides.
Caution: Use heavy leather gloves when working with this product to prevent chance of injury. Keep away from electricity, as steel is a conductor.
